Custom Cable. Need some advice

Hi Guys,

Recently bought some custom cable for my Corsair AX860i, I order 1 Dual 6+2 Pin PCI-E and i was using a gtx1080. Did i order wrongly? Should i been getting 2 pcs of 6+2 Pin PCI-E. Will the 1 Dual 6+2 Pin PCI-E be able to power the GPU?

Which GTX 1080 are u using? And beside that what's the power pin required? If its using 1x8 & 1x6 pins its fine u can still use that 6+2 pin into 8 pin and that 6pin just dun use that 2 pin. Simple as that.

am using evga Gtx1080 FTW. I have not yet change the power supply still using superflower which i am using 2 pcs of 6+2 pins. that is why i was wondering if its enough to power the GPU when overclock. Might have to order again

well if ur SF is around 550w, den 850W shouldnt be any problem at all unless ur corsair have issues in the pass.

Thanks for the advice. Just bought the corsair power supply so i have yet to test it. Cause i am waiting for the new casing then i change the power supply. I was browsing some of the rig here most of them are using 2 pcs of 6+2 pins

oh i see, well im not really sure most are using 6+2 or 8, just that both have its benefit as well as annoyance.

1 dual 6+2 is enough, even for OC.

i see. Thanks. Thought i might have order wrongly. I wanted to order 2 6+2 Pin PCI-E but seeing Dual 6+2 Pin PCI-E is cheaper so i bought that instead. Less cable also.
