Am looking to build a mid range gaming pc since my current razer blade is dying.

I am more concern about the looks + color coordination of the pc in a small form factor since the only games i am playing nowadays is dota2, csgo and maybe Tom Clancy's The Division. Ideally the budget would be $2000, if i push it, probably $2500

Factors to consider
  1. Small form factor
  2. White/Red colours
  3. Value for performance

Parts (need suggestions)
  • Chassis - Carbide Series® Air 240 Arctic White High Airflow MicroATX and Mini-ITX PC Case
  • Motherboard - Maximus VII Gene
  • Power Supply - Cosair RM750I - Open to suggestions
  • CPU - Intel Core i5 6600K - Open to suggestions
  • Cooling - Cosair H100i - Open to suggestions
  • GPU - Gigabyte Extreme GTX 970 - Open to suggestions
  • RAM - HyperX Fury White ddr 4 8gb x 2 - Open to suggestions
  • Storage - Samsung evo 850 m2 256gb - Open to suggestions
  • Storage 2 - 2TB HDD - Open to suggestions
  • Multi Color RGB Lighting w Remote - Multi Color RGB Lighting w Remote - HUE+
  • Wireless LAN Card - Wireless LAN Card - Asus PCE-AC68
  • Custom Cables (White + Red) - Open to suggestions

I am seeing if i am able to get a way cheaper build as compared to the specs i've chose at Aftershock pc. If the savings are significant i would build it myself.

Problem is the last pc i've built was a pentium 3, so i would really need a nice and coordinated recommendation for the above. All suggestions are appreciated and i would post a build log if i build the system.

TS , are you looking to get all your parts in a local shop at one go or open to the idea of purchasing from amazon/newegg?

ALso I don't think there's white ddr4 fury RAM though. can consider the following instead.

http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Ballistix-Sport-PC4-19200-288-Pin/dp/B01AG9F14Y/

With your budget, I'd say it's hard to include 32gb RAM, K processor, and a decent MOBO. Have to seek a compromise somewhere.

yes, i calculated using fuwell's price list, came up to about 2450 excluding wifi card, led lights and the misc stuff. Will probably be dropping to 16gb ddr4, if white is not available, maybe ddr3 16gb hyperx fury since i'm sure there's white for it.

and will probably switch to a white/red kind of color. still deciding if the maximus vii gene is a overkill for this setup

thanks for the led and lan card recommendation.

my setup without the above runs about 2450. might have to cut a few things to keep it under 2500

so far. Any idea if the maximus vii gene is an overkill? Ideally in future if i really have to upgrade i might just switch out the gigabyte xtreme gtx 970, and maybe swap the i5 for a i7

If you want to save about $100 you can just get a cheaper Z170 M-atx board.

There are no white ddr4 hyperx fury rams. Get Avexir Core white led ram, that's the closest you can get to white ram. (of cos there are Corsair Dominator Platinum Series which they have white tops but way out of budget)

Get a 2tb wd black hdd and the rest is alright.

you can opt for 950 pro ssd if your board supports m.2.

Custom cable sleeving around $100+ for a set can look around.

hope this helps!

I agree can get like the Asus z170 or Asrock even.

Actually corsair Dom plat (some models) quite cheap (can fight with locall non premium ram pricing) on Amazon, maybe can consider.

There is a lot of difference in 850 and 950 m.2. 850 read/write only up to 550MB/s while 950 can hit 2GB/s.

The closest red/white motherboard theme you can get is the Gigabyte Gaming 7/ GT or G1.
