Hey folks! Who’s your go-to for custom PSU cables? Positive or negative experience? Things to look out for?

Is CableMod overrated? Is “Congrad” still in business and how can we reach them?

Is Luof1118 a good choice to support local? Any other local lobangs from Carousell, Shopee, etc?

Look forward to all your feedbacks. Stay well and have a wonderful National Day week!

Do you mean extensions or custom cable replacements? I usually gey my extensions from Aliexpress. Its pretty cheap and you can even get them to customise by sending them a picture.

Heya! I’m talking about custom cable replacements. But don’t let that stop you from sharing your experience. Do you prefer paracord or PET? How was the purchase experience? Things to look out for? :giggle:

They don't have fuse. :) I have been using these power cord for many years. Not for the faint-hearted tho. BTW I have started topics about this some time ago.
In Singapore, it is better to use UK format plug with fuse. In fact you should replace the 13A fuse to a lower rating say 5A.

Reason is very simple. PSU is designed to runs on low voltage (110v) or Singapore case high voltage 230v. When operating at low voltage region. Current required to PSU is almost double. Because of this, fuse inside the PSU cannot be lower then this rating and hence is too high to protect use of same PSU in high voltage country.

Happen to trouble one Super Flower 750W power supply from a friend. Strange enough, it tripped the circuit breaker at power junction box but the internal fuse never get blow. Open it up found it was a 12A fuse on the board. Basically serve no protection to PSU.

I got some sata cables from luof1118 and his workmanship and turnaround time is good, plus his pricing is quite affordable. If you have no qualms about spending money you can purchase from overseas from reputable cable companies like ensourced or mainframe customs. If you want value for money you can check out dreambigbyray, i think he has his own website now. IMO ensourced has some of the best cables in the business.

I have had issues with cablemod in the past with regards to their workmanship, so personally won't really recommend them. I personally do my own cables but sometimes purchase outside if i am too lazy to do so.

Heya! Luo’s an outstanding individual. Great pick for local scene.

I have similar thoughts on CableMod. Unlike CableMod, Mainframe’s top notch. Appreciate how they do their splits.

Will check out Ensourced on the next rodeo. Encountered the name a few times, but didn’t follow up on it. DBBR’s everywhere.

I got that Igor’s Lab contact frame article bookmarked. Thank you so much and stay safe ah!
