Hi all, thinking of building out a rig mainly use to do simple work and some gaming (not online, just single player).
Have lost touch with the PC world, so started with Invaderpc ready to ship rig. Some looks good and value for money. Looking for something around 2k-ish. I have a mi 34 wide inch monitor which I use mainly for work, so would like to stick to that for now and can consider changing in future
Example from Invader PC: $1,859
AMD RYZEN 7 7800X3D 4.2GHz 8CORE/16THREAD
ASUS TUF GAMING B650M-E WIFI MOTHERBOARD
COOLER MASTER MASTER LIQUID 240L CORE ARGB
KINGSTON FURY BEAST RGB 6000MHz 16GB(8GBx2) CL36
SAPPHIRE AMD RADEON PULSE RX 7800XT
CRUCIAL P3 PLUS 1TB GEN4 NVMe M.2
SILVERSTONE ET750-G 750W 80+ GOLD
TECWARE VXM EVO ARGB BLACK TEMPERED GLASS
3 X 120MM ARGB FANS
HIGH-SPEED AX WIRELESS AND BT | WIFI 6 + BT 5.2
Some questions:
1) Should I go for 7800XT or a 4070 Super? I read that the 4070 Super is at a good price to performance point. Feels like these 2 are at similar price points but the 7800XT is 16GB. Which one would last longer if I dont actually need to max out my settings on all the games?
2) On CPU, do I need 7800X3D, or that is an overkill for the rest of the stuff there?
3) I feel 16GB ram is a bit low, would likely go for 32GB?
4) There are some rigs that use different brand cards, like the ASUS TUF GAMING AMD RADEON RX 7800XT O16G instead. Does it actually make a big difference in terms of the brand?
5) I am also open to DIY the rig . I used a recent price list from Fuwell and it is actually more expensive to add it up. Am I missing something, or should I typically ask for a discount? given most people say DIY turns out to be cheaper
6) If I go DIY, any suggestions on items to change from the above rig? it doesn't have to be this rig but I just use it as a starting point.
Thanks all!
