Customized PC (1st timer)

Hi,

This is my first time DIY a gaming PC, I would really appreciate some feedback from veterans on the specs of the PC I'm going to build.

Stats stated below is what I have in mind currently, please feel free to comment on it.

Mobo : MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
Processor : 4670k
Ram : Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz 8GB
Graphic : Leadtek/Palit GTX660ti
HDD : Hitachi 1tb (given by a frn)
SSD : Crucial m4 128gb (given by a frn)
PSU : Corsair TX650M
Casing : Corsair Obsidian Series 650D

Considering your budget, I'd probably go for all-in-one liquid cooler like the corsair H100i or something, fits your casing too. Also depending how much you wanna push your CPU.
But then I have never used a liquid cooler before, might wanna seek advise from other people.

First of all, are u overclocking? If no , drop the z87 motherboard, k processor and high end rams. Lower the psu to 500~550w if u are using single gpu.

If not overclocking , no point getting the "K" CPU and Z87 board. Might wanna look at H87.
And no need for CPU Cooler.

Actually I've set aside $2k for my PC of cause if can, I will also want to lower my cost too.

I won't be going to into OC for the forseeable future.

If I'm not going to OC, Is the stats below reasonable ?

A GTX 770, 7970 or GTX 670 is able to handle most games at high settings with decent fps. The rest of your components look fine to me. If you want to lower the cost further, you can consider B85 mobo. As for PSU, you can consider FSP Platinum 550W or Seasonic X 560W, you don't need anything higher than that unless you intend to crossfire or SLI in the future.

Yes resolution is at 1920 x 1080.

Just 1 Qns to ask, should I ever SLI in the future, roughly how much power just to be on the safe side ?

no point sli if your gpu is not that powerful, may as well buy 770 now
