This guy just cut queue in front of me (several cars doing the same too) at Toa Payoh Lor 1 right turning to Lor 2 towards PIE.

It angered people a lot as so many has queued for so long behind, and this and many others just cut queue suddenly. Just imagine everyone is doing the same.....where is the law and order in society? No wonder there are so many rules in Singapore.

For such incidence Traffic Police has adviced me either I can make a police report, or just submit online (much easier, URL provided by TP, insufficient privilege to post here, but you can google "e-feedback on road user" at SPF website) and you must have the video evidence, which I have.

Hopefully more people can help out, and let us police one another and be a more law-abiding society.....just like Japan (in my view).

For this kind, if they signal, I will think twice about reporting, if they don't signal, I may report. Coz I may not know they cut due to what reason. Maybe the back vehicles really don't open the door for them, no choice come knocking on your door. But if they signal, I will just close one eye.

my personal points of view:

1). this is part and parcel of driving.
2). there is no need to over react.
3). your driving skill is not good enough :D

This is very common, encounter almost everyday
Im able to roughly tell if that person purposely cut queue or not
If purposely cut, he can never cut my queue

Common things on the road la

Always see such drivers... part and parcel of driving. Sometimes just close one eye and let them in, especially if they signal and wait for others to give way. Maybe it's an honest mistake and they didn't know that's the queue for turning...

is this the first time the guy is doing it? if so, give benefit of doubt, it can happen to you too one day.

as others have said before, such things happen everyday, how to report all. TP also no time

btw, what is the car? luxury brand, hot hatch, etc, some of these drivers are typically like that.

Unless he did it in a dangerous manner, at the very least cut without signal, or else also LL.

95% of the time, it's not a mistake - it's the person being selfish and deliberately cutting queue. Most of the time, this type of things happen most often at peak hour where the queues are longest - people usually take the same route 5 days a week so they clearly know what the route is and probably cut queue on a daily basis.

To me, signalling doesn't change anything - you know full well that you are cutting the queue and you are doing it intentionally because of your selfish intentions of saving your own time without any thought about everyone else behind since you are either (a) sticking your butt out and blocking the other lane while waiting to cut (thereby causing congestion in the other lane where others have to then cut out to avoid you and in so doing, affect traffic at all lanes), or (b) interrupting the flow of the traffic as it is moving and causing the person to brake leading to a chain effect which generally slows the traffic even more.

However, unless and until TP start issuing summons for failing to form up properly at a junction, the only thing you can do is to refuse to let the person in - in which case most of the time they will just go further up the queue and some other person will let them in (unless they damn sway and everyone in the queue is very aggressive).

If the TP really want to improve behaviour on the roads in Singapore, make use of all the car cams people have and actively encourage people to submit videos then review video submissions and issue summons (or at the least warning letters) where appropriate for inconsiderate driving, changing lanes without signalling, etc. when they issue the summons, they should then also tell the person who submitted the video what action has been taken. Word then gets out very quickly that you better watch how you behave on the roads because you can be caught on camera anywhere, any time and action is taken based on those video footage. The reaction will probably be similar to speeding in the KPE / MCE after word is spread about the effectiveness of the speed cameras so most people don't speed in the entire tunnels (even though the cameras are only at limited points).
