Hi, i just did windows 10 update 2 days back, with a hard disk attached to my d drive (as memory not enough). after installation and restart, i can no longer find my d drive. i checked on disk management, it was stated as unallocated, working fine.

i had tried rescanning disks, uninstall updates, restore back to previous windows 10, update device driver but to no avail. May i know how to get my d drive back?

thank you in advance :)

Sounds like windows 10 bug..... I remember reading somewhere that windows 10 update causes drive to go missing.

Nay, far from gone...... This is no big deal. Data is fully intact unless user overwrites the data. Just that this one needs a data recovery software to get the data back. I have done such recoveries countless times.....

I recommend TS try to use this free version to check if your data still available in the hdd before going for any professional of data recovery. personally it help me to diagnose when i encountered the same missing data from HDD and the speed of recovery acceptable to me.

recently the windows 10 update for 21H1 have some issue and it auto remove my Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition (window store version) from my game drive.

I recommend for any member if you OS still stable please hold on for this update.

I just did a fresh install of 21H1 so far no issue with 21H1 but strongly advice not to update at this point in time.
Wait for a while before updating, backup any data you have as well as disconnect any additional drive you have.

If i'm not wrong you need to create partition for the drive plugged in at the start of win 10 installation. I encountered this before.

If i dl this, and i opened up the EaseUS Data Recovery, i saw my hard disk files in there under "Lost Partition" means they are lost in the hard drive?

So is a external hard disk?
Any clicking noise or weird sound?
If there is than the hard disk is faulty, you have to approach data recovery to recover the data.

Most likely dead hard disk.
You can approach shops like PCdreams for data recovery but the cost is expensive.
