Can anyone help me configure the Event Setup for this DCS-5222LB1 camera (FW 2.14). It's gen 1 camera with built in web GUI accessed from a Windows browser. I'm hoping there are some other users out there familiar with the setup. The camera is working and can be accessed from the WAN with a Windows browser and Mydlink Lite for Android. Sadly, Dlink no longer support email alerts from their app like I was using before so I have to do this using the web GUI.

I've been on the phone with D-Link support (Philippines based) but other than a lot of trial an error, nothing has worked. I've set Motion Detection and I want the camera to send me alerts to my email address. These are the settings from the Event Setup page

Server name (???????????????)

Email
Sender email address (my email address)
Recipient email address (my email address)
Server address (???????????????)
User name (my email account login ID)
Password (my email account password)
Port (???)
This server requires a secure connection (StartTLS) (yes or no?)

Every time I hit "Test", it returns "Test Error".

I hope someone an help me with Singapore specific settings.

TIA

Trevor

PROBLEM SOLVED!

I posted in desperation as I thought I'd tried everything. Then the Dlink tech guy suggested using a Yahoo automatically generated password. Turns out Yahoo offer this as an optional way of logging in to your account without using your real password for apps (such as Dlink config) that need an email password.

I got the Yahoo generated password which has groups of characters separated by spaces. My mistake was typing this in manually INCLUDING SPACES and the software rejected it. Ok, no spaces, no problem. But just re-entering without the spaces didn't work!

So I keep looking elsewhere for the problem. After trying everything I could think of, I went back to get another auto generated Yahoo PW and this time I just used the COPY button and pasted it into the Dlink GUI. The spaces must have been auto deleted. Now it works! Who knew?

Yes. This was new to me today. I read the description on the Yahoo page which seemed to indicate it was optional. There was nothing on the Dlink side to suggest that this was a requirement but sure enough, the Event Setup on the camera wouldn't work with my normal pw.

I think hotmail also have this options.

Once you enable 2FA on hotmail your device can't use your hotmail login password for outgoing mail. Also need to Generate app password
