D3D fatal error, Device removed

Am having this issues which i can't seem to solve.

Having a lot of issues with this esp when playing dota2. The game auto minimizes and i can't alt+tab it back, causing me to end task and reconnect. Happens about 8 times per game.

Purchased nier automata and darksiders 1 & 2, all crashing randomly with the d3d fatal error.

Rolled back my com and still encountering issues with dota2. Also reseated and swap my 1080 sli. Anyone know of any fix?

specs is 6700k @ 4.6, 32gb ram, strix 1080 advance in sli

disabled SLi and still encountering same issue with dota2.

only recent thing i did was connect my pc to my nintendo switch pro controller, using steam controller settings. For some reason, i think it might be the big picture mode having issues.

Also my dota2 problem exists before trying to play nier and darksiders with a controller, so might be 2 separate problems.

Did a clean wipe of drivers and re-installation several times also

Try reformat/reinstall windows, reinstall all the drivers and games. I usually rule out software first before trying to troubleshoot for hardware.

2) Check if your direct3D is working fine, else reinstall.

not sure what i did, but the most of the issues are gone, cept for slight stuttering in dota2.

Only thing i changed was to use the xbox controller instead of the nintendo switch controller. Might be because of the xinput vs directinput controller issues?
