Best to take local buses. I took local buses all the way to 四姑娘山 last time. Might take a few more days to reach Daocheng. I also travelled solo then.

Even if there are direct flights, I wouldn’t risk it due to altitude sickness.

I took the public bus from Chengdu to Kangding to rendezvous with my travel party. These days there is a highway for this part.
