i did a day trip there. it's in my youtube channel. night trip is pending. it's very frightening to go alone at night. it's been raining this month and weather isn't ideal. i don't want to hike at night alone in a forest when it's raining. umbrellas don't work inside due to many branches and the soil gets soft from rain. even worse the rain clouds obstruct gps signals. i will get lost inside. it's too dangerous. need good weather & clear skies before trying again

I attempted the hike twice. The first time, I narrowly avoided a serious accident because I wasn't aware of the reservoir's presence. Luckily, I stopped to adjust my flashlight, or else I would have continued walking into the reservoir.

actually the journey to keppel reservoir isn't hard

i wanted to visit the japanese tomb at night. that's the more dangerous one. it's the one that's pending

Yup, I'm prone to carelessness and overestimating my abilities, which can lead to complications.

from the japanese tomb, if you walk west, it goes down a 40 degree slope. if you roll down that slope by falling, you might end up inside that reservoir at the back end. so don't go to the tomb at night. there's some danger

i detected a strong scent of jasmine flowers inside the kranji war memorial at several areas, all near the southern end. jasmine plants are planted next to many tombstones. but you won't smell much except near the southern end where it was very strong. you can see jasmine plants in my youtube

there is enough dark & desolate places in singapore for me to shoot many videos. there is so much more to cover. most of these places look and feel haunted. it is very scary to approach them. not many solo dark exploration videos exist. some edit ghosts into it. you need to have a certain personality in order to find a way to summon the courage to make the trip there alone. overcoming fear of the dark is very complicated. initially you will feel so much fear that you keep wanting to see if anybody is behind you. fear makes it impossible to walk into a dark forest alone. shoot video? forget it. walk deeper into darkness? you may experience hair standing episodes

keppel hill reservoir at night. you can see bats flying above the water

I was about to suggest this place (and the grave of a Japanese naval engineer in the same vicinity; this man died of overwork, ironic Japanese trait), but I guess this place can't be missed in the first place.

There's also the remnants of Syonan Jinja in the middle of the MacRitchie forest, way off the beaten path. But ppl have gotten lost trying to reach it in the day, so better not try in the dark.

these 2 places are in my thoughts. i take every location seriously because there's danger involved
