TS, you are so brave. Do you wear any amulets for protection? Or at least get some talisman. Just to be safe.
no but i have a hardened steel saw (MIJ) to cut my way through. one of the teeth broke today. i didn't know wood can break hardened steel

I was about to suggest this place (and the grave of a Japanese naval engineer in the same vicinity; this man died of overwork, ironic Japanese trait), but I guess this place can't be missed in the first place.

There's also the remnants of Syonan Jinja in the middle of the MacRitchie forest, way off the beaten path. But ppl have gotten lost trying to reach it in the day, so better not try in the dark.
these 2 places are in my thoughts. i take every location seriously because there's danger involved

keppel hill reservoir at night. you can see bats flying above the water

I not so afraid of ghost, but rather snakes or python that comes out at night. As someone who hikes and jog around nature reserves, I don't recommend going at night. At least go with a partner, never alone.

Maybe you accidentally hit the rock.
i swing it like a parang on thin branches and use sawing motion on branches. never hit rocks before. but from experience, vines with 2cm diameter or greater are very difficult to saw. hardened steel blades require 5-10 strokes to break these vines because it's hanging around and not stiff. trees are really powerful. there was another occasion where i tried to cut the roots of a tree using an electric saw. wow it didn't work. the steel blade wasn't strong enough. you really need a gasoline powered chain saw to cut big roots. tough as hell

there are no snakes in all these places. no rats either. the snake might starve to death inside our forests. really nothing to eat. you will find toads after rain though

i am very comfortable around all kinds of animals including snakes but so far no luck in all these places at night. the presence of snakes as predators, implies a constant source of food is available nearby. this is ecology and food chain in action. you will find snakes in hawker centres because there's food. you will find monkeys in some parts of singapore because people feed them, or they live near forests. but these desolate places i go do not have predators nor prey. snakes might starve to death inside. i can't even hear rats running around

it's a saw. you can swing it like a parang. but seriously, if you don't have a knife or saw, don't hike at night. once you get lost inside, you will realize how trees can circle around you suddenly with no exit. you will understand this feeling once you go inside and lose your way. without a knife, it's impossible to go through certain sections. so you are stuck, hungry and thirsty. you want the fastest way out and it's all blocked by thick undergrowth. without a knife, game over

Safer to use a saw. At least it is not a weapon like parang.

I believe you never get to see any ghost.

Do you happened to have your hair standing , or goosebumps when you visit those tombs?

safety first. knife and saw is compulsory unless you want to die inside a forest one day

i know where to find forest uncle. it's still pending. a cemetery caretaker told me where and what time to see. sounds scary? i am scared too! but i want to go. maybe i won't see anything. maybe i need to go many times before it appears

some places are more creepy than others. i feel more fear, but no goose bumps. better not have goose bumps surrounded by trees covering the sky at night. if that's how i feel, i'm not ready. very dangerous to hike at night if you have so much fear. go home sleep. come back another day

exploring the area around Tan Tock Seng's grave required far more time than expected. it was dangerous at certain sections above outram hill because the slope is very steep. i imagine serious injury or death if you are not careful

Some headstone names are noted in mount pleasant cemetery. It's clear some graves are well taken care of. I saw red on the road while walking out. It's unexpected and strange. Not visible in the video upon replay but it was visible while recording! Unbelievable
