Night trip to the Japanese Tomb & Keppel Hill Reservoir. You can hear clubbing music very clearly at certain spots. Let me know where it's coming

https://www.livescience.com/archaeo...gurines-thought-to-hold-the-souls-of-the-dead

During the Kofun period (300 to 710) of Japanese history, people buried the dead in large mounds with many grave goods. Scattered around the mounds were objects called "haniwa" — clay cylinders topped with clay figures, used in offerings for the dead.

These two haniwa, known as the "Dancing People" or "Haniwa Terracotta Dancers," are in the collection of the Tokyo National Museum. They were discovered in 1930 during the excavation of an ancient cemetery in Saitama prefecture, north of Tokyo, and are thought to have been made about 1,500 years ago.

According to the Tokyo National Museum, haniwa were made throughout the Kofun period and were used exclusively as tomb decorations. Originally simple clay cylinders, haniwa became more elaborate over time, as the cylinders were topped with figures that included humans, animals, houses, armor and boats. They were used to mark grave boundaries, and some haniwa were thought to hold the souls of the deceased.

The Dancing People haniwa are especially striking because of their simplicity. Their mouths and eyes are holes, which make them appear to be wide open. Their arms are stick-like, and their upper bodies end in a cylinder base below a thin belt. Their curving arms and open mouths have led some researchers to conclude they are singers or dancers.

In a 2008 study of the Dancing People, archaeologist Yoshio Negita suggested that the pair may be a man and a woman. The smaller one has clay on the sides of its head, suggesting a peasant hairstyle, so haniwa may represent a male farmer, Negita proposed. Another theory, put forward by archaeologist Yoshimichi Tsukada in a 2007 study, suggested that the haniwa may depict two male herders holding the reins of their horses.

Thousands of haniwa have been discovered from ancient Japanese graveyards, as each tomb was surrounded by many of these objects.

But video game enthusiasts may recognize haniwa from a 21st century context: In the game "Animal Crossing," the "gyroids" that a player can dig up are called "haniwa" in the Japanese version and are based on the ancient clay sculptures.

i'm sure many people prefer to hear somebody talking, maybe see some faces as well. but my channel is continuous 4k60 FPV style with no commentary. it's meant to record the sound of nature and it's scenery with minimal edits

i find existing channels quite irritating with so many cuts, edits, text and faces when all i want is to study the location in high resolution at night without music

the most depressing part is witnessing young people doing lemon cannabis in some of the most desolate places in singapore. the last time i smelt weed was in amsterdam. i stopped recording whenever i see such things. some even run away

this is a physically demanding night hike. more than 10km from start to finish, with a few very steep slopes

visited the tomb of Ong Sam Leong 王三龙 and his son Ong Peng Hock 王平福. i realized they were taiwanese immigrants after viewing their tombstones. Ong Peng Hock left me a very deep impression. His son Ong Tiang Seng, married for 6 years, died 10 days after the Japanese occupation started, as a soldier. His name can be found in the state cemetery. i had 2 strange experiences in a section of the cemetery that i never visited before. it's described in youtube

i played fatal frame in the past. it's how i got the idea to film using this style - no commentary first person view videography. the most difficult thing i plan to do is to reshoot some areas when it's not only night time, but raining heavily. this will be as challenging as it gets. it will take some time. there are many places i have yet to cover. i also want to eliminate as much artificial sound as possible. it's tough

Went in McRitchie, Bkt Timah forest alone middle of the night so many times. Went in there for peace and to meditate. No biggie, only thing is when your mind playing tricks, you'll scare yourself , sometimes there are some presence, but just like occasional bats, treat it as that.
But once I was staying in my brothers spare apartment, unintentionally I couldn't sleep and went into an open apartment. It was dark, mattresses strewn , etc. I actually felt a strong presence almost too intense like you can lose your mind anytime and run out screaming. But I didn't lose my mind, fought hard to kept my composure.
Next day I learned from my parents that a murder happened in there just recently.
That explains it.
