Singtel to sell mobile wallet Dash to Western Union​

Singtel has signed a conditional agreement to sell mobile wallet Dash to Western Union.
According to an Oct 24 announcement, the sale is subject to regulatory approvals and it is part of Singtel’s ongoing measures to simplify its structure and portfolio. Singtel did not disclose the financial details of the proposed divestment.
Dash customers will continue to have access to all existing services in the meantime, adds the Mainboard-listed telco........

The wallet does not have much acceptance by both customers and merchants, not surprised they are selling it off. Singtel do not have any let alone good, track record of running successful businesses not adjacent to the telco business.

Their content creation and over-the-top content business flopped, same for financial services. Even in the MVNO space, they were so late to the game vs M1 (with Circles Life).

Singtel former life is govt mah so what do expect from ppl inside business brains? Now so called corporatized hope they employ more private sector employee to input their business ideas instead. Govt ppl job is to expend annual project aka think how to spend monies. Private sector is think how to earn monies so brains wired differently.

Relax Singtel is a former govt entity got strong support. M1 Starhub close shop Singtel confirm still around unless change govt. As for Grab that one Msia one harder to predict.

GXS is not wholly dependent on DASH for business.

Don't forecast any issue, since adoption of DASH is very low.

On top of that, GXS is 1 of the many banks in market today. Can always choose others.
