Data Recovery on Non-spinning HDD

Hi, anyone have any recommendation for good and reliable HDD recovery services? Can also share their prices?

2 of my HDD are down, no spinning sound at all.

Connect to a working OS also cannot detect. In BIOS, it was classified as "Removable Media", with "No media installed"

I did my recovery at Accplus as it was the best price when I was searching for one for my Seagate. For Seagate, the cost and shipping fee is a bomb. If you manage to find one good and have the price, inform here, I also want to find out more just in case.

It was quite awhile back. I had a Seagate 3.5 External Storage. The hdd failed to appear on desktop through the usb cable so I plied open the entire casing to extract the hdd. Tried external dock and nothing works. The hdd was emitting sound like a system trying to start up but got stuck or something. I guess the disc wasn't spinning already. So I started to look for recovery center. First was the Seagate official partner as there was a sticker on my hdd retail box.

To my horror, after consultation, the price was too high, crossing into the thousands and yet to include the shipping fee to the overseas Seagate Center. Whether it was a success or not, the shipping fee still had to be charged and its freaking ex. Hence, decide to look for third party. Most of the third party are pretty established firm and of the price they offer was lower but not to my satisfaction.

Accplus is not really a big firm. He actually using some part of a industrial area office to perform the recovery. You will see his special devices in his room though. Was brief and shown on spot how he would do the recovery. My hdd was 500GB so I didn't want to stay put to wait for the sectors check to be done. There are many cilent's hdd there as well. Well-communicated like what he is going to do next and what had been done so far.

I try searching for the photo with cost first then let u know. I forgot already. I can say Louis is very friendly, like those uncle kind but who knows he actually got the devices and skills so don't expect him to be those with establish firm kind.

Oh just to add on,

The hdd did got recovered and transferinto a brand new hdd that I bought and pass to him He manage to revive the dying drive too. Mentioned some platter head wear and tear. As of now, the hdd is still working. But I already learn my lesson and do duplicate copies of my important stuffs. The hdd now is used for junks stuff

Learnt my lesson liao bah.. By the way, do anyone backup their OS? So that you can just do a Hot-swap etc when the Master HDD is down? Do you need to make sure that both HDD are the same model?

I do a Windows Image backup every few months for the OS SSD. The backup disk can be a HDD and any model. I used to do clone disks but not really necessary as Windows Image has been tested and worked well.

Hi peeps, finally i did my recovery at Accplus. He took around 2 weeks to recover my data (less than $800). Luckily, I had all my data back.

On my first visit, Louis asked very precise questions when he was diagnosing the root cause for the HDD. He even had a stethoscope to listen to the sound of the motor! Finally, he found that my PCB or 'needle' on the disc could be faulty and may need to replace before he can check if my data is still there.

After 2 weeks, he called me to collect the HDD back. He explained in detail the root cause. Luckily it is only the PCB on the HDD which cause the issue. He replaced it and reset the CMOS on the replaced PCB. He further transferred all my files out to another Portable Hard Disk.

I can feel his passion in his work, and he explain very detail. For a similar fault, other company may even try to charge me the by changing the needle, which may cause around 1-2k.

But Louis did not do that.
