Data sim card for use in Philippines

Heading to Cebu and another island. Thinking if should get a prepaid sim card for data usage. Anyone been to Philippines can give a heads up on the brand of telco to buy? Thanks

Correct hellhole. Smart is good. Like 1+dollar or 40p for the sim card then top up a few more dollars enough to spam whatsapp and edmw already.

- 2G GSM up to EDGE is on 900 and 1800 Mhz

- 3G UMTS up to HSPA+ on 850 Mhz on Smart and 900 Mhz on Globe and mainly on 2100 Mhz on both networks.

You can get your philippine sim card in singapore before even going philippines with your philippines phone number to give to your hotel/friends/driver etc inclusive of instructions to active your data plans.
