true... did see one guy for 1 day... before I posted to that unit that time already inside... he did pester that docs for MC too till docs called back camp to complain for the first round...together with drugs and AWOL too...

next day he back in... accordingly he took drugs again and caught by CNB... dont know how long this time...

maybe got post out to other unit for when he out for second time...

he liked army so much

I don't have answer for you, as I previously stated that it's quite unpredictable what kind of sentences will be passed.

But since the AWOL is so long, and drugs are involved, my guess is it your friend will be stuck in DB for quite a long time.

Some are just resident DB detainee.

They can be inside a year and it takes less than a month before going in again. They hate the "normal" regimental life but can put up being a DB detainee.

I can testify to that. My brother was one of them. Wasted life inside DB. Total Full time NS served 5 years. 2yrs + 3yrs DB on/off plus staycation at Changi also. His offence is NOT drug related. Can you imagine that?

Others of his age already out working, while he's still receiving NS allowance.

No amount of support can help if the person don't want help.
