The salary + 1 transaction tier, as long as you hit >$2.5k, really no incentive to try to hard to go all the way

For those who need to know, Multiplier account fall below Minimum Average Daily Balance is $3000.

https://www.dbs.com.sg/personal/support/bank-deposit-accounts-fall-below-fee.html

https://www.dbs.com.sg/personal/rates-online/multiplier-account.page

The higher interest rates of 1.55% p.a. - 3.5% p.a. are applicable only to the first S$50,000 in the DBS Multiplier Account.

Total eligible | Salary credit + | Salary credit +
transactions | transactions | transactions
per month | in 1 category | in 2 or more categories

<S$2,000 | 0.05% (p.a.) | 0.05% (p.a.)
≥S$2,000 to <S$2,500 | 1.55% (p.a.) | 1.80% (p.a.)
≥S$2,500 to <S$5,000 | 1.85% (p.a.) | 2.00% (p.a.)
≥S$5,000 to <S$15,000 | 1.90% (p.a.) | 2.20% (p.a.)
≥S$15,000 to <S$30,000 | 2.00% (p.a.) | 2.30% (p.a.)
≥S$30,000 | 2.08% (p.a.) | 3.50% (p.a.)

If my salary is $10k and I spent $1 on credit card and have a home loan of $700 per month how much interest will I get? 2.2%?

Just to add on the housing loan. If your housing loan is joint and shared 50-50 with 1 more person, the amount recognised for dB's multiplier transaction value is actually the full installment amount, not just your share.

If your 50% share of the installment amount is $700, the amount recognised for dB's multiplier transaction value is actually $1400.

Will be switching to multiplier from OCBC 360. Since I'm using Vickers for trading and POSB account for crediting dividends. I will be getting slightly more interest when I make a trade.

Think best strategy is :

DBS Multiplier
1. credit salary
2. use credit card
3. investment

UOB one
1. $500 cc spend
2. 3x GIRO

Just for your information, dbs vickers is having 5 dollars cash rebate and minimum 10 dollars commission for cash upfront buy in order, can use this to fulfill your requirement.

For example, if you buy 10 k sgd worth of stocks using dbs vickers( can be cash or cash upfront), the fully settled 10 k sgd will be counted as eligible spending.

Just to check, if dividends from both spouses enter a joint account, it is aggregated. Would it matter that it comes from a joint investment? what if only coming from 1 spouse, is it counted in the other 's multiplier?
