if my 12 months is almost up, just need to redeem the old one and choose a new fund right?

Can terminate the RSP for the current fund. Up to you when u want to redeem. Can wait to get dividends or when the price rise. But if you want to reuse the same fund to count to dbs multiplier need to fully redeem at least 6 months before u reapply for it.

Can get RSP for another fund (new or fully terminated+redeemed at least 6 months ago) for it to count to dbs multiplier.

I had a long session with livechat on this on 17 Sep. He keep pointing out to me this clause and say sign up plus 14 days must be still within Sep to start being recognized for Oct interest. I told him FAQ did not say so but he was very certain.

Regular premium due will be recognised once the policy is in-force, after the free-look/cancellation period.

The livechat guy gave me wrong advice? 😮

I had a call with their call center that keep insisiting investment need one month like insurance, after 3 calls and speak with their "expert", all the previous CSO are wrong, DBS really need to reskill the CSO

Cancercare at $11.57 per month is better than POSB Invest Saver. The min is $100 as compared to $11.57. I merely want to clock that extra category.

Well... the comparison is not fully correct. The $11.57 are expenses that you will never see back.

The $100 is not really lost in the process. If using a bond fund like A35 or MBH there's very little risk for the capital. You can get back your money (with extra returns) by redeeming the RSP. The real cost is the commission only. At $100 monthly investment, that's $0.5 (for bond funds) or $0.82 (for STI or REIT funds).

Comparing $11.57 with $0.5 or $0.82 is the correct comparison here.

After every chat session, there is a link for feedback. I always give honest feedback about my experience. Recently my feedback has been "Staff needs more training..." Someone is reading the feedback so please don't skip it. One recent occasion, they actually SMS me to apologize and thank me for my feedback.

I hope the bank will give sufficient training to all CSO before putting them on hot seats and giving customers wrong info!

Yeah they renew similar promotion over regularly. I got SGD3 back last month for the RSP commissions of the few past months as I qualified for the version of that promo from earlier this year :D

Cancercare cost will be totally gone if you don’t claim.

While invest saver, nobody stopping you from redeeming the units the very day it gets credited to avoid to huge of a market fluctuation. In some cases you might even breakeven

Bro I got a qns ah. Example I buy ETF on investsavers for 12 months. Than after that 12 month reaching. I just change to another ETF. Than it will continue to work for me as I had achieved the invest category. Means every 12 months I need to change ETF?

Than if I buy UT how ah? I thought UT need lump sum one shot. Than my 12 months extra int no more?

EDIT THIS IS WRONG PLEASE IGNORE

UT can RSP too. But if you choose to buy lump sum, DBS divides your lump sum investment by 12 and counts it for 12 consecutive months.

For example, if you buy a lump sum $12,000 UT today, you will clock 12 months investment cat, each month with $1,000 worth of eligible investment transactions.

Hi I want to open this account and hit 2 categories. Can anyone advise what is the most straightforward way to do so ?

1. Open DBS Multiplier account
2. Subscribe to new regular ETF savings plan (existing regular savings plan dont count right?)
3. Subscribe to insurance (can be done online) ?

And for the salary crediting, must it be only into the Multiplier account or any posb account in the same holder's name will do ? The FAQ seems to state any posb/dbs account but just wanted to confirm.

1. salary can be to any dbs/posb account in your name.
2. easiest is credit card + insurance (cheapest kind can get < $20 per month).
