I guess you have not been in the business of employing ppl hence you don’t realise that it’s not so easy to find good talents especially at the senior level. (1st reply below)

n it might end up costing more.

If you are the CEO, will you remain as a CEO n be paid 20% to do the same work? (my second reply below)

http://www.cpib.gov.sg/e-services/e-complaint-for-corrupt-conduct/

Here’s the link to file a complaint since you have evidence to suggest criminal wrong doing.

do everyone a favour. Thanks!
my 1st reply-

actually there is good talent, just that are we looking deep enough and willing to groom them into successor.

my second reply=
why not? still a salary. not reduce from 500k to 1k, just reduce to 30k, 20k as punishment.
once the system stabilise and no more disruption slowly increase back

my last reply to your last line of post=

I tried last time in Malaysia, somehow they know it was me, now its difficult to find job because they find me as person who will not bow down to elites

Here’s the thing right. What you just said is subjective, n ultimately the voice that matters is the employer n not any other people.

so they just see it differently from you.

I in IT software development line coming to 30 years. All I can say is transitioning to a new stack is not trivial at all. Most employers want to do migration from old system to new system which is a big challenge by itself already.

Hence most employers prefer the softer approach new system slowly build up while old system continue to function.

E.g IBM mainframe to Unix last time in STC aka Turf Club is a nightmare. Terminate vendor resend quotes for salvage existing system by terminated vendor etc. How I now is I work there in their IT department. But they did cut over to Unix eventually.

Bank IT system will be many many times more complex than STC I am very sure. So the downtime is expected. It is not the number of IT ppl that make the transition it is the quality of the IT ppl which Spore is lacking so a lot import especially for software development component of the IT system.

Agree with your take. Interestingly, the good IT folks that could actually do SI well are in the US or Europe (Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, or even Monaco). Not saying there is no talent here in Asia, but in general the tenacity to push through a project and meet time line without taking shortcuts is just not comparable.

The consensus in Asia is one should move up to do say project management instead of software developer forever until retire.

Having in that role in Spore since late 90s it is true and I still remember that manager who told me the developer role is for young graduates not seniors. Now 50 I think he is true which is why now my employer is angmo company and he takes the view of US and Europe that one can be software developer until retire and be fairly compensated. Last I check my pay is on par with some project manager role and I escape the tech retrenchment frenzy this year.

It's a pity here. There is more value in being a developer, especially if you're dealing with complexity. However, it's not seen to be valued here due to organisations not set up that way here.

Yes I will, as it was my fault for not ensuring stability of bank app system.
those who complain, they only use the job as stepping stone to go to another job
