Just saw this new product from DBS on my fb feed. Points are earned to redeem a range of vouchers but the mechanism looks complicated. Any good?

Account is unimpressive. It is an MCA with no minimum balance. Interest at 0.05%.

If you already have an eMCA it might be worth the switch.

I believe you will need to invest with DBS in order to get the points, which makes this promo unattractive to me.

If you normally trade, DBS Vickers cash upfront isn't a bad trading account to have. Though now IBKR is in Singapore that might be a different story...

Don't sign up just for the DBS points though

I was looking into that too but when half way thru applying my acc
I stumble upon "link card to atm" that part only allow either of the card I hold (which is dbs visa debit n posb passion card)

There's no option of linking both to my acc
So I didn't proceed

why u need to link both?

If already linked dbs visa debit to multiplier, u cannot change it.

Now can open joint alternate account online, I gonna do it.

I don't have multiplier. My current normal savings acc can link to both

Direct convert of course cannot.
U can only open my account and close the existing.

Most bank's design their savings account with no feature to convert, ie all along cannot convert.

Now DBS designed a new account My Savings, which u can convert to Multiplier (eg) in future.

Most banks also dun offer online opening of joint-alternate savings accounts, now DBS offer, I just managed to open a POSB joint alternate account online.

I used to be able to convert my passbook savings to esavings in the past. So anyway I called and asked, cannot as it is a current account. So savings and current account no link cannot convert. The only reason why I'm thinking of converting is to retain the account number, partially cos of convenience of remembering, save hassle of updating organisations and part sentimental as its been with me since I was a 'child'. Haha.

Because passbook and esavings the same thing. It’s just the no book version

I only know my account is a Multi Currency Account. I didn't know it's a current account. Cos current account can't link to ATM card? Current account also comes with a check book. CA doesn't give interest?

My account can link to ATM card so I tot it's just a savings account as it gives interest once a year too..

Current account should be able to link to atm card going by how multiplier can be linked.
