Hi gurus,

I know these are 2 different things, one is a securities account the other is a treasury deposit account. But looking at securities benefits, I see the 2 have no differences. both are trading at 0.18% for US equities. What are the other benefits? better foreign exchange rate? Is it worth the "upgrade" from normal saving deposit?

Also the $20k annual spending is it something that can be waived? I meant, living frugally is also part of my financial plan with the combination of building my investment portfolio so I can retire comfortably. Forcing me to spend $20k just to get the benefits kinda defeat the purpose.

Cheers.

Treasury deposit account? I think is more like the lowest tiered version of “premium banking”. Worth to upgrade or not really depends on whether u use their features.

What’s 20k annual spending?

Minimum AUM to join DBS Treasures

You also need to spend at least $20,000 a year on your DBS and POSB cards, otherwise your privileges might not get renewed.

Is there "features" worth the upgrade? Any DBS Treasure client can share share..

Diff thing right, one is 350k to qualify for the status, then 20k is just for the card privileges.

It really depends on whether you will use the 350k quickly to do something if not you will earn pathetic interest

You need both 350k and also spend 20k annually using one of the cards to maintain the "privileges". They never mention is it just card or not.

If talking about cards, the only benefits is the treasure credit card is 2.4miles vs altitude (which I am using now) 2miles for oversea spend.

And as part of the member, DBS Treasures clients enjoy preferential rates on foreign exchange (which is good for my US equities) and home loans. But never stated them in details.

Better ways to get forex. Unless you are getting a house loan, it may not be meaningful?

I think on paper it sounds pretty good lar. just need to see any bros and sis here also their client can share more.

The $20k min spending would not fit into the lifestyle of a frugal / minimalist person.

Can always get the loan then after that forgo the status.

Actual 20k spend might not be as difficult as you think it is if you consolidate all your expenditure

The local earning rate of 1.2 miles per dollar is the same for both cards. But take note the treasures card is only available in AMEX as far as I remember.

If you are talking about whether can consolidate the points into one card, I don’t think so.

If you are talking about whether can redeem the points together, should be can
