Hi all,
Currently I'm using Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Mobo w/ Intel i5 6600 with Corsair Vengence LPX 2400 2*4GB DDR4 RAM. I have the intention to change to a Ryzen build in future (Asus Strix X570E w/ 3900x or 3950x).
Right now i'm facing the issue of having my current memory running low. When playing Anno 1800 my RAM usage peaked at 7.9GB and while at normal usage (Chrome + Firefox) my RAM usage is hovering around 5.5GB to 6.5GB.
Putting that in mind, I'm thinking of upgrading my current RAM with RAM kits that will be good the Ryzen, namely the Corsair Vengence LPX 3600 2*8GB DDR4. However when I checked the Memory QVL for my current Mobo, there is no listing for any RAM that goes up to 3600mhz.
Given that I'm not running any XMP profiles right now and I do not intend to, would it be fine if I were to purchase the Corsair Vengence LPX 3600 2*8GB DDR4 kit and use it with my current Mobo (replacing all current RAM module)? Or do I have no choice but to buy back the same RAM speed kit to expand my RAM?
Thank you.
