Because there are things here you don't want to look at, that you would feel perfectly fine brushing aside or turning a blind eye to.

I'm not sure how many people have highlighted this to you, but it can't be that I'm the only one here pointing this out to you guys!

Rules are rules. If you as moderators don't feel the need to enforce the rules or to respond to the complaints, fair enough! Take those rules out of your forum rules page, amend them accordingly! That way, you won't find me complaining about racism and hate speech in your forums again since it would be allowed in this forum anyway!

Thank you for reporting but we don't just close or delete a thread just because it's reported. We still have to look at the offending post and gauge the severity. For the first one, you referred to, it was locked before you posted this thread.

As for the second, it may be a tad insensitive but the question does bring up some valid discussion. We can moderate the types of discussion allowed to a certain extent but we cannot police the forums to a point where we disallow any discussion that might offend very sensitive people. Then it's no longer a forum.

I know where you are coming from and I can understand why you are offended. Still we need to afford the members a little slack to balance their social morality and own opinions. Only when the lines are crossed should we take action.

We also seek your understanding that not all reports can be taken action upon immediately. We will do our best and we hope the members will be willing to report those we may have missed out on.
