You can spent a few days in Taipei exploring the Taipei zoo, maokong or going to baby boss, putting sky lantern at shifen, etc.

Besides that can explore Yilan which is an hour coach away from Taipei. There are diy activities for kids. Can get a driver to drive u around n plan the itinerary.

Yes you can go straight to Yilan from airport if you want. Engaging a driver is easier as there is no direct bus from airport to Yilan.

Have you been to taipei before? If not, just enjoy greater taipei is enough. No need to go yilan.

Can try go Yilan and go for fruits picking. Now Taiwan tourist board having some coupon for us to go Taiwan for fruits picking. I went for pomelo picking for my last trip.

both are about 15min drive apart ...

from zhongxiao station u need to take bus about 1.5 hours to reach there ...
admission ticket is about 399ntd if u have the voucher from taiwan tourism board ... else usual shld be at least 699ntd per person ...
