Declaring exclusions by other insurers

I'd ever been rejected and had exclusions by other insurers for hospitalisation plan. My doctor reviewed me and wrote a report to explain how my condition does not warrant an exclusion. So I applied to another insurer with my report for the same plan, but there is a part in the application where I need to declare whether I'd ever been offered modified policies or rejected by other insurers. The agent advised me that this declaration is negligible as long as I declare my conditions and submit doctor's report. He advised that I should not declare the insurers who had excluded or rejected me as they may affect the underwriter's decision, and I should let the underwriter decide based on my submitted documents.

At first, this sounded right. I've declared my pre-existing conditions, I don't hide anything. I just don't want to affect their decisions. So I heeded his advice. But now, I feel a little uneasy because I don't know whether the insurance companies will share information amongst them and fault me when I need to file for a claim.

Is declaration of rejection/exclusions really negligible or something important? What should I really do? :(

If its negligible, they wouldn't it be put on a form and ask you to declare.

I would advise my clients to declare truthfully if they have been excluded or rejected before. That said, insurers will not decide to reject a person simply because another insurer decides not to take up the risk.

I guess you guys would suggest that I should have declared my past exclusions. What should I do if the application has already been submitted?

Just curious, does such exclusion declarations affect the underwriter's decision? Especially if they know I'm left with them to try applying?

Just submit a form to declare and wait for result. Good luck.
