Degree in human resource

Im a student studying full time in local poly. My results aint that good so though of taking something in hr under murdoch. Is it recommended ? Because i havent complete army so hopefully using degree can add on point to my poly cert

This is a top up degree where you only have 9 modules to graduate. Don't feel that you are competent compare to other degree holders who have at least 2 years of course knowledge (around 18 to 24 modules).

The course do not consider HR subject like 'Compensation & Benefits' as a module which I suspect it is cover under a chapter of HRM module. To me, I feel that this is a general degree that focus on HR rather then HR specialize degree.

Why want to study HR? Do you know that study Business or other related field allow you to work HR?

not really. but because i'm studying in another field. so looking for something to add up.

My advice to you is that your plan will not work out. If your degree is not recognize by organizations, you will be in a crossroad to use HR degree to look for HR job with diploma salary or your diploma trade job with diploma salary. This may make your degree useless for the first time.

Depend on how you plan your career advancement & the major of your diploma trade if you can apply both together for your success for your 2nd job. However it is unlikely going to happen unless you hold multitask job like Office Manager.

recognize degree = NUS/NTU/SMU. Anything other then the Big3 university fall under grey area.

Try to find HR or business degree course that have at least 2 years of duration that have around 18 to 24 modules to justified your competency as graduate. Alternate, work as HR first before you decide what you want for your career. I know a lot of people want to enter HR but once enter & see the dark side of organizations or **** jobs like unnecessary workload, a lot of people left HR Industry.

My company's HR officer is from Murdoch uni btw. So is it a recognize degree is subjective I guess.

I suggest that you try out the sg uni options first, do your best to pump your GPA as much as possible.
Then try apply for UniSIM Full-Time HR, if not then part-time HR.

If possible, during school vacation, or in between graduate to army or ORD to uni, find a temp/contract HR assistant job. This experience will be useful for applying SIT/UniSIM.
It will be a plus, if you volunteer at a non-profit, and hold an office position that does work similar to HR. That voluntary experience will be useful as well.

For private, see if SIMGE Manchester HR is okie for you.
