From your usage description, choose 2414H (16:9).

Monitor with 16:10 aspect ratio, like 2412M is for working with documents/graphics/videos. Reason is simple, more vertical space means more rows for document views or toolbars while still editing HD stuffs in 1:1 zoom.

U2414H is better.. and it is IPS... It has DP, HDMI port whereby U2412H dun hav HDMI.. Cant connect console to it.

I bought 2412m recently mainly because 2414h don't have DVI and I've already used my HDMI port to connect to TV. 16:10 is also worth more la and better for browsing not just doing work. Never heard of anyone that prefer 16:9 when price is the same.

my vote goes to 2412M. It provides DVI port. Looks wise 2412H prolly trumps with its borderless display. But....i need those legacy port.
