Guys who are on the HL-DT-ST combo drives, try downloading the latest firmware from the Dell site.
I was surprised when the acoustic signature and vibration of the drive was tremendously reduced!

Correction... forgotten mine cross flashed into a Lattitude C810 so that I can use the Lattitude Docking Station!

if u want smaller screen 12.1 .. and dun mind the size and prefers light weight mobility get 700m OR if u prefer screen size of 14.1 or 15inch and also light weight mobility you can choose 510m.

Difference is 700m uses a 4cell lithium battery which can last up to 2.5hrs but can have the option to upgrade ur battery to 8cell at an additional charge. While 510m usea a 6cell battery that can last up to 4.5hrs

warranty upgrade. Maybe no match for other brands. Used Inspiron 7000 for 3 years,
Inspiron 8100 for another 3 years and currently using Precision M60 for another coming 2
years 9 mths

So far satisfied with the service. No doubt that there are no ergonomics in their design but
value for $$$. You can't get same specs with other brands. Used for engineering & graphics
purposes.

Anyone using the 510m model? Still deciding on whether to get the 700 or 510m model.

im using 500m which is basically the same as 510m except my processor is slower.

Looks wise is ok. Feels rather sturdy and the size is small. Battery life is superb at over 4 hours.
Keyboard feels nice to me.
Overall quite a nice design but if you want something light because u carry it around everyday, u can get the 700m.

But if ur a guy 510m is not very heavy too, below 2.5kg so still ok to me.
