Hi,

Sorry, not to familiar with the express card.... Cos I may be settling for the XPS M1210... but the latitude series has a docking station for attaching to my office equipment like printer, network, monitor, keyboard, etc. but can't seem to buy such a station separately in Dell, and wonder if the XPS has anything that is similar.... Thx

Don't think the XPS M1210 have a docking station.

If that's the case, is there anythg that can allow it to connect to stuff such as keyboard, monitor, printer easily with 1 plug instead of plugging in all one by one? Thx

Hey Chen Wei thanks for the info, really appreciate it.

Hm, looks like XPS M1210 does not do very well in gaming, it only score 2k+ in 3Dmark'05, but M2101 is too expensive to me, 5600 is too expensive too much!

Hm... need to think wtice b4 I spend my $$...

If you use PartitionMagic, you might get away with it; it does'nt format the C: drive.

I've not don't it before; I did a clean install.

Let me know the result after you add the partition. I'm very keen to know.

Hi Diavonex

I have just partition c drive into 2 partition with all data intact. Partition Magic works fine. I can also still see the other partition by dell still intact too.

skmok, well done!!!

So Ctrl+F11 still works?

Thank you for the feedback.

Yes yes... it still works when you press ctrl+F11 when boot up. No problem.... but i didn't start the process... so if the partition actually got corrupted for some reason and maybe cannot complete the recovery process, then i don't know lah.... heheee

I used the resize function. Then create the extra space into the new partition. works well so far..

You have the best of both world.

An additional partition and the ability to perform quick Recovery.

Good for you.

Hi..
will like to know does Dell still give out installation CD for their notebook/PC ?

I knew other brands store the installation software in the hard disk and end users need to extract them out once they recieved the machine.

Among Dell's promotion for SITEX is the 640M with 1.6 Duo Core. 14" screen...plus 1GB ram and bundled with dvd burner and free delivery. Base unit cost is now $1299.

I reckon it is a good buy...are u guys happy with the performance and is the weight of ~ 2.4kg comfortable for mobility ?

Btw is Core 2 Duo a must or good to have if I eventually upgrade the OS to vista ?
Dell's price for CPU upgrade is as followed:
CD..1.73Ghz....$99
CD...1.83 Ghz..$233

C2D..1.66 Ghz...$165
C2D...1.83 Ghz...$249.

thx,
