This you've got to ask yourself.

1) What im using it for

2) Do I have the spare cash for warranty?

3) Am i investing for temp. or its going to last me for sometime?

I guess that pretty much sums it up....

Oh yea...

avoid windows Vista AT ALL COST

Go for windows XP home or Professional (better).
Working or studying wise.....XP still has the edge....not to mention less RAM eating :s22:

Just wondering, is Dell's warranty international? As in the basic '1-year XPS Premier Service with 1-year CompleteCover' one.

After taking a look at the actual thing, am really considering the M1330, but just today I already had another few more friends advising me against getting Dell. Anyone's faced any major problems with their Dell laptops lately?

these are the facts in getting a Dell Notebook / products

1) their Notebook design are pretty ugly,,,but the m1330 is still presentable
2) performance per dollar wise, they are among the top.
3) They only have on-site warranty...meaning they will have to go to ur bedroom
if ur notebook or desktop is put there... Or they will go to ur office if u ask them to do so.
4) When they do come for service, they will change whatever is needed to fix the problem; they dun bring the unit back...( at least till now I hadnt heard of anyone's dell NB was brought back)
5) Dell doesnt do direct sales (not in Spore yet; but is happening in USA and China)...meaning u cant go to a shop or even their kiosk at Suntec and said I have money and I want to buy and collect this or that notebook on the spot.
U have to place ur order and it will be manufactured in their Penang plant.

This is the information which I had collected prior to me getting the 1420 back in June.
Why a dell NB,,cos due to their warranty programe ( esp the complete coverage) plus all the installation dvd are given out as well. Need not burn out the installation compare to some other brands.

My company is using dell PC...and their service is very prompt.

I prefer to buy and take home directly...

The delivery normally takes less than a week for the Inspiron and Vostro series.

It's worth the wait because you get good value for money.

using "CHKDSK /R" command to fix my "Blue Screen" problem..

Dell notebook LCD problem

Notebookreview.com got a lot of people complaint about the LCD screen on
Vostro 1500 and Inspiron 1520. Does this happens in singapore DELL?
I went down to their kiosk in suntec, the LCD on 1520 is horrible!!!
It's just not bright enough and white color on screen look like yellow to me!
I cancelled my order after few days.
