Bro... You can see RAM icons at the back of your lappy.... Just use a plus/philip screwdriver to open it.... Replace the RAMS... Before you do that.. Just make sure it's compatible with your lappy...I just upgraded my DELL 9400 to 4GB....

Ok, will try doing this weekend..

Thanks for the guidance.

I m using Dell Inspiron 1420. I need to use chinese fonts (pinyin input). Can anyone advise how can i activate it? I cant seem to find the chinese characters fonts. Also why is it that i only see garbage on some chinese sites? How can i make my laptop able to read the chinese text? I need to toggle between english and chinese for my wordprocessing, just like in Windows XP, but without the need to install software like chinese star.

aprpeciate any Dell expert's advice. :s22:

Chinese:
Go control panel > regional settings > regional & language options > keyboards & languages > change keyboards... under general tab, you can add new keyboards languages by choosing your preference. eg, for hanyupingying input, choose Taiwan for traditional input; choose PRC for simplified input.
To view chinese text, you can do settings in the web browser's View tag > character encoding.
I'm using firefox3 on Vista all the while and it doesn't require to set anything. Not tried IE yet.

Hi all,

May I ask where can I find the modular 8600GT for Dell 1520 ? Mine has 8400GS and I want to upgrade to 8600GT.

Also is there any shop that takes in my current 1280*800 LCD and upgrade it to like 1440*900 for me with a reasonable cost ?

Tks

U goto be ****ting me!! One of my 9 cell batt just died, i got another one though. $180 is freaking expensive. I think when you buy the laptop, add an extra batt is better. For future reference.
