whenever u plug a new laptop/desktop into the connection, u need to reset the modem for it to issue an ip to the system.

Hi all, Can any user tell me more abt Dell 9300? I posted in another thread on "A Good Laptop for running Maya" and responds hmmm... Maybe someone from Dell User GP may help me.

Wat are the needed to upgrade for configuration when choosin Dell 9300...
1. Is the 3 yr Warranty Support worth to upgrade? Does it cover ANYTHING including accident damage? can i upgrade later?

2. Is the RAM worth to upgrade? (or where i can get cheaper? i perfer 512MB of even better 1000MB) where can i get it?

3. Wat is the diff of the Internal Optical Drive? Which is better and is there a need?
a. 24x Max DVD/CD-RW Combo Dr
b. 8X DVD+/-RW Combination Dr with dual layer write capabilities

4. Is there a super different of paying $225 for the UXGA Display with TrueLife as Dell Recommended? (As the screen is a 17"inch display, if i get UXGA display, will it be very or super reflective and cause working with it problem?)

5. The VideoCard is 256MB NVIDIA(R) Geforce 6800. Any idea Go 6800 ultra hv in sg Dell?

6. What others may needed to consider to upgrade?

Thank you for your kind advice! - MIC

U can upgrade later. cant remember the part abt accidental dmg though.

2. Is the RAM worth to upgrade? (or where i can get cheaper? i perfer 512MB of even better 1000MB) where can i get it?

U can buy from sim lim square.

a is just a DVD reader/player and you cant burn DVDs.

4. Is there a super different of paying $225 for the UXGA Display with TrueLife as Dell Recommended? (As the screen is a 17"inch display, if i get UXGA display, will it be very or super reflective and cause working with it problem?)

This is up to individual preferences.
Why not pay a trip to suntec to visit the dell booth

Havent seen any yet

6. What others may needed to consider to upgrade?

yes right, after few hours of order confirmation, i phone in to upgrade to 3 years limited warranty and also add aditional ac adaptor and mouse, they seems cheaper togather with the notebook purchase.

the 3 years limited warranty seems alittle expansive (14% of the nonebook cost), it do not cover accident cause by user. so if i drop the notebook and break the screen i still need to pay for the screen i guess.

the full coverage will be much more expansive at 25% of the notebook cost. i am the only user and also a carefull one, i don't think worth it.

any one here upgrade to the full coverage?
