My problem is getting online - the networking devices setup is where my problem lies. Just how u configure your network setup? I tried using a SUSE 10 Live CD and still cannot go online.

anyone knows how to scale the image in firefox for a screen resolution of 1680x1050?

i know Dell quickset is able to do internet explorer scaling, so the images look bigger in IE6. but it looks terribly small in my firefox

anyone knows how to solve this? i love the firefox tab browsing feature thus i would prefer to keep using firefox but preferably with a bigger image n fonts which is easier for the eyes.

Not sure what you mean by scale the image, cos Firefox will just display images in the original size. If you want to increase text size, just View->Text Size. A better alternative is to install the extension Mouse Gesture. Then if you want to increase text size, just hold down right mouse button, drag and 'draw' a "\" (from top left to bottom right). If you want to increase size of a particular image, just do the same on the image.

Or you can get a MS mouse with side buttons for "magnify". Just click the little button to magnify part of the screen (can resize the box, and can change magnification with scroll wheel). (You don't really need to buy their latest mouse. Just need the sw driver for their latest mouse, and it can work on older MS mouse.)

If you want to increase text size overall (for the whole Windows environment), go to the display properties, settings, advanced, and change "font size" to Large. This has some side effects in some applications, but nothing serious. I use this all the time on PC/laptops with high res or small screen.

No, DDR and DDR2 are not compatible. The slots are slightly different, so you can't even put DDR2 into your 700m. You have to get DDR 333 (PC2700). I think the price is less than $80 for 512MB (1 piece) and around $240 for 1GB (check HWZ pricelist download for shops like Best Bargain). Definitely cheaper to buy 2x512MB if you are going for 1GB. Look for my earlier post in this thread with link to instructions on how to access the 2nd slot under the keyboard.

i got 2x512mb at $75each frm best bargain... can try ur luck there but be sure to bring down ur lappy to try out 1st... they will help u install wan but its not tt diffcult after u c how they installed. it's e slot under e keyboard tt is hard but just follow e instructions given to open it...

Depressed 700m keys

Hello,


My 700m touchpad buttons seem to be depressed. I no longer hear a crisp clicking sound when I click on them. It feels like using a mouse whose keys have been used so often they are no longer sensitive. The left button is more depressed than the right button.

Does this warrant a repair? Both buttons still work, but I've stopped using them. But I really hope to restore the keys to their original condition. Or do our fellows have any bright ideas?

lol... I hav just finished opening up the keyboard... Qt scary n i got a few scratches due to my carelessness but its a gd experience thou, change e ram under the keyboard to e 512mb tt i just bought... will be going to get another 512mb tmr... thanks to those who have given me advise here...

Problem is, I'm now overseas and I'll only be back on the 14th, but must leave by 6th. I also have a fair bit of stuff in my machine. How long must I wait to retrieve my lappie? Must I do some backing up or something? Also, where do I send it in to? Suntec City booth?

i can't really give advise cox i duno wat programs r u using but i do some video encoding n it does improve the speed... dun tink e warranty is void if u open e keyboard... just restore everything back to e right place... it shouldn't b a prob.
