Ctrl+F11 retrive the Image from the hidden partition.

Once you format and install Windows XP it'll probably not work any more.

Expansion of storage space?

Hi,

I got a DELL XPS M1210 and I was wondering if there is anyway that I could expand my storage.

Is it possible to hotswap/change the DVD drive to a hard disk?

Is there such an adaptor? If so, anyone can recommend me brands or where I can find them?

Thanks and regards

Hi,

Its not a residue in C:, its just un mounted. I've already mounted and formatted that drive and released a measly 3gb for my own usage.. heh.

Any idea if there is any adaptor to change the dvd to hard disk?
I'm sure there is one since there are ide hard disks around since...(I can't remember) but I can't find it and I'm not sure what is the name of such an adaptor.

Thanks and regards

Just my point of view on the Storage Topic.

It would be safer and better to get an 3.5" externally powered hard disc, partition it or not another matter but it brings alot of advantages than having just one large laptop drive.

There you go

Convert the DVD-Writer to HDD, but dont think it's hotswapable
I am planning to get one too, but I'll wait, not urgent at the moment

You can have one more layer of backup; use Acronis to backup the whole drive including DELL PC Restore Partition.

Use the 15 days trial version to do it.

There's nothing wrong with the Standard screen.

I think they sell more Standard screen than Truelife.

Why don't you order it from DELL kiosk?

The original one is very easy to install.
