Why don't you order it from DELL kiosk?

The original one is very easy to install.

Yep,
I got mine from the Dell Kiosk

Self assemble and comes with the right screw

Does anyone here with Vista installed have problem with Media Direct sucking a hugh chunk of memory? I had 512Mb running on some cyberlink software slowing my system down.

After quitting the application and uninstalling Media Direct, everything is in order.

I didn't have that problem le. But i'm on 2gb RAM. Running on 512mb with Vista is already suicidal. The Mediadirect uses cyberlink software.

Hi, thank you for your response. Did you Office 2003 installed?

You cannot run Vista with 512MB of RAM; you'll need at least 1GB.

Yap it's normal, you need to set your battery profile. Click on the Battery icon to set it to optimun performance if you want your screen to be bright.

McAfee Security Center 7.2 slows down your Net surfing?

I have faced a lot of this sluggish surfing. It affects many websites but not all. Yahoo sites tend to load very quickly, just like normal broadband. But many others sites, gosh, take longer than dial-up modem I had 5 years ago.

This happened after the free automatic upgrade that came with subscription.
I have turned off Phishing, and rebooted. Still the same slowness.

Using WinXP Home service pack 2 on a dell 630m.

Any ideas anyone? Anyone facing the same frustration?

it is f8, i just got it restored :) despite this, i still greatly appreciate your actively help all this while with all my questions. so far no complaint with the laptop since i got it this evening but just that my 1st time full battery usage (comes with the laptop upon delivered with 100% charged)only lasts 2 hrs and the battery status was initially saying 3 hrs. However, with a intel core 2 t5200, i expect it to run for 3 hrs or more :( with a 6 cells battery... is it normal?

First charge it for 15 hours

After about 10 charge/discharge the battery will give much better performance.

The battery will last longer if you reduce the brightness of your screen.
