I'm currently getting a dual monitor set-up.
I mainly use my computer for web browsing, watching YouTube, movies and development (coding). I also do some casual gaming (LoL, Fortnite, RPGs). I prefer the IPS panel because of the more vibrant colours and viewing angles. I was looking thru some brochures and chance upon Dell's monitors.. they have the S, P and U series. Which one will be more worthwhile to get? A lot of people are recommending the U series but I don't know the reason behind it. Anyone who can recommend me a monitor (can be from other companies) or explain to me the different series that Dell offers? Your help will be deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If i remember correctly... S is the entry level (mostly tn panel), P is the professional series (for people who do series work on Photoshop type of work). U is in the middle.

So for my general use purposes (with casual, non-competitive gaming), should I get the S2419H, P2419H or U2419H? I'm also looking at Acer's SA230A and LG's 24MK430 which have a higher refresh rate of 75Hz.

Yup, you need to be careful with the S series, i.e. there is a high chance of getting a TN panel monitor.

I've noticed that you're using the Dell U2515H (2015 model?) on your set-up. May I know your experience on gaming with it?

May I know the reason behind the decision?
P series too expensive and i don't need the super high color accuracy. I don't use image software for a living.

S series too many tn panel. Good for gaming due to low latency.

So, go for U series. Jack of all trades.

No la dont anyhow . P series where got expensive . those are for mainly for business / office uses . S series mostly IPS also(only 1 or 2 SE model is TN panel), some are glossy panel, more for home/entertainment uses. U series is Ultrasharp , best of the line. These are matte panel and adjustable stands and some other perks but most expensive . If u like glossy panel (better clarity and colors) get S series.

the ranking is s lowest, p mid tier, and u highest.

generally,

s is the cheapest, but have the least options/connectivity, poorer colour gamut, contrast difference, fixed stand, and "consumer" stuff that ppl tend to avoid, like glossy screen, built in speakers.

p is the professional mid range. have better/more accurate colours, more connectivity options, better contrast, better panel uniformity, less backlight bleeding, a usb hub, a movable stand.

u is ultra, the highest range. panel is just slightly better than the p in terms of colour/contrast. uniformity, backlight is around the same. have full connectivity like hdmi/displayport/d-sub/audio out, a charging port and more.

p and u are actually very similar. while s is definitely inferior.

you want the absolute best panel/options, u

you want something cheaper and aren't fussy (if you can see the difference), p

you want a cheap ips, s

at 27 inch and higher the u and p series are sort of combined together, so you'll have to check the actual panel and specs of the models.

U is more expensive than S and P, but I don't see the difference in specs tho.. Comparing the S2419H, P2419H and U2419H
