then it really is a no-brainer isn't it ...

I asked for a quotation of x51 w/o monitor last weekend (during sitex) at dell funan, then offered me U2312 at $200 or U2412 at $300.
Also went at alienware concept store at suntec, same offer of U2312 at $200.
Maybe it was because they're trying to make a bundle for me along the x51 or maybe in conjunction with the sitex promo.
Hopefully its not refurbished set.
The quotation they gave is within 7 days, so I still have time to decide.
Just sharing & hoping to get some input on which is a good all rounder monitor.

in this case, can't just look at the $ of your monitor ...
it's got to be how thick your wallet is also ($ of x51 + monitor u were quoted)
i'm not sure of the pricing of the x51, are you getting a significant discount off that too ... or just the bundled monitor discount to entice you ?
but if budget is ok, then surely going for a 24" would make more sense bcos i think resale value would surely fetch more $ (when u think of upgrading to a new and better monitor next time) ...

Actually I think it's very possible. They only offer such deals to people who purchase their desktop. I know for offices, if they are using Dell PCs, they prolly can get their monitors for even much lower.

this is outright (non-bundled) price rite ?

it's totally possible ...
think my first Dell monitor i bot from them (Add-On @ Funan) (during fair period) ...
they quoted same price as fair discounted price, and even threw in a free DP cable ...
unfortunately, think my graphics card display port was not functioning and i couldn't use that ....

another possibility for price drop could be they (Dell) could be trying to clear stocks ...
afterall, they have a lower (newer) model out not too long ago ... and that the next UltraSharp series lined up for release possibly in the first quarter of 2013 ....

If you're refering to the Dell shop at Funan, do you mean to say they give you best price $240 for the U2312HM with 5 years warranty?

Then that is definitely a better deal than Best Bargain or the recent SITEX.
