Any advise where to get this Display port to HDMI adapter?
Went to C0urts and challenger cannot find.
Weather too wet, lazy to get to SLS to find.

2312 coming tomorrow already.
Delivery within 3 days only after confirmation. Not bad.
But still looking for HDMI adapter

Use DVI 1st till u find the HDMI adapter. Since image quality not much difference, according to the ppl here :)

Damn.. I connected Dport (F) - (Dport/HDMI Converter) - (M) HDMI (M) - (Dport/HDMI Converter) - Dport (F) and it wouldn't work :/ Tried this because I was already using one converter and had a spare one lying nearby.

I guess I need to find some dvi to Dport converter tomorrow..

iirc read either from this thread or somewhere else from internet that digital converters (displayport-hdmi) don't work well for this monitor.

do more googling first, don't waste money converting.

for me i don't have hdmi source to use so i'm ok with this monitor.

What are you trying to do?
I was trying to connect the monitor to the laptop.

My laptop doesn't have VGA or DVI, only Dport. The monitor comes only with VGA and DVI cable.

I don't have Dport cable, I have 2 Dport/HDMI converters & I have HDMI cable.

So I just play around and tried with whatever I had

Got my 2312 monitor today

Immediately deboxed and set up.

Happy with VGA connection. However also bought a DP to HDMI (female)adapter from eBay at $12 with free shipping. So when it arrived can try it out if there are significant quality difference from my present VGA connectivity.

23" is HUGE! from someone been using a laptop for the past 5 years.:s13:

anyway im using the settings found here....so far so good

Dell UltraSharp U2312HM, 23” Monitor Review - Page 9

- ensured dynamic contrast was off
- lowered the brightness to 7 (which resulted in a 122.5 cd/m2)
- lowered Red to 85
- lowered Green to 87
- lowered Blue to 95
- adjusted Windows gamma setting to correct for gamma
- left all other settings at default levels

didnt bother to adjust windows gamma

for problem number 2...you went to use the cd to install the bloatware driver? theres two part to the installation. one is the powernap software, 2nd one is the entech API that needs to be installed.
