Tried dell xps 15? well what type of games? are they graphically intensive?

Lenovo y50?

Razer blade?

Gigabyte P35w v2?

Aorus x3 +?

Actually initially when i was think of the brand to buy at Comex, i only looked at Dell and Asus. Because i don't know whether other brands are up to it. Eg. sony, lenovo. Acer is definitely out of the question right? But i find Dell attractive, so hmm maybe i prefer Dell.

I think the games are graphically intensive like FPS PC games battlefield series. As for school work, i need microsoft office and of course surf web online lah. Specs also must be better than my current one.

if you play graphically intensive games i'd suggest not to go with dell. i suppose you will want to bring the laptop outside so it must be quite portable?

and since you have no budget maybe you can look at aorus x7v2? its the best slim laptop gaming machine out there for now. its 860m sli can rival the current top of the range cards like the 880m on optimized games.

or can look at aftershock series also. can customize your own specs

Since u seldom bring out, weight is not an issue. Then just go for gaming laptop where u get more performance. Any reason y not gaming laptop?

Only gaming laptops can play graphically intensive games.. and gaming is just a name.. When you hear either Gaming/Workstation means the computer is much more powerful then a average laptop.. Its just a name.. Seldom bring out? Get a gaming desktop and a work laptop unless you game outside too then that is a different case

Currently i am using Dell Inspiron 15z, the specs i have given in the first post. I can play most games on this including the Battlefield series from Electronic Arts so i guess this is consider a gaming laptop?

Anyway i do not require a specialised laptop for gaming byt of course a more than average laptop. From previous posts, someone recommended Dell XPS 15 which i took a look at the model and it doesn't come with a disk drive which means i can't insert a cd for games and/or other media.

Maybe i am more inclined towards Dell brand, any recommendations?

Best get a Dell XPS series laptop and upgrade to 3yr NBD support. You'll get superior support if anything goes wrong, and you'll have extra resale value if you decide to sell and upgrade to another laptop whilst it's still under warranty.

Anyway these days PC gaming need CD meh? Everything is digital download. If you need, just get a $40-$50 USB-DVD drive for that occasional time you're ripping music/movies from DVDs.

Avoid Asus at all costs, abysmal service center and slow repair times. http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/r...-much-delete-threads-154th-style-4797137.html
