Desktop cannot boot up

Hi all, my desktop decided to die on me on the Christmas day. I was just surfing the web and suddenly my display was gone and being replaced with colourful line. I can feel the whole desktop was hanged. I tried to reboot but unable to load up. I suspected was the graphic card died. I removed my old sapphire 7850 and connect the display qnix 2710 onto the mother board gigabytes g1 sinper 3. After that i can hear the desktop start up normally but not sure why there is no display when i connect my monitor to on board display. Any pro can advise is it really my graphic card uplorry. This desktop set up a bit old already i think at least 6 to 7 years have not been giving me any problem so i have no intention to change my whole desktop.

if u suspect the graphic card faulty then just get a new GPU.....since it is quite old already.....afterall u need get new GPU even if u need to replace other part eg motherboard

? there is support for iGPU which is present in the i5-3570K

@ OP - you can try a different cable with the iGPU in case it is a cable problem

May be motherboard go up lorry. It will be good to upgrade to a newer motherboard (complete set) since your hardware is so old.

2. Try on a different monitor, maybe a TV if u don’t have another monitor, just to test the output

If all still can’t, might be mobo up lorry, or ur display up lorry.

If able to light up on ur iGPU, might be PCIe lane died, 6/8pin spoil, or GPU died..

But based on the colourful line u saw, likely to be a display related error. If u have spare GPU also can just try.

If you know how to set your BIOS again,

reset the CMOS and try.

Sometimes, you've set the Primary Graphic's Adapter to start as PCI-E and not Onboard thus just changing the cable to onboard will not work.

your motherboard not uplorry. intel display drivers have a bug where hdmi will not output until you manually change in display settings.

Vga dont have this bug so use that one first, to change hdmi settings

Yes i am using 15-3570k. Not sure why i connect to the dvi port on the mother board got no display only colourful block having a slide show like that.

Ya i need to find a vga cable. Currently i don't have vga and spare monitor that is why more troublesome.

Best would be to bring your PC down to someone who will troubleshoot for you... That usually means cost. There are such service at SLS.

Another way would be to loan parts from other PC to swap and test...
