Desktop Cannot On, Unsure Which Part Fail

Symptoms
1. Motherboard got lights when PSU switch is on. Meaning as least passthrough power is supplied.
2. Press power switch on casing cannot turn on
3. Short power pins on mobo cannot on

PSU or Mobo fail? Anyone face such a situation before?

Trying to avoid buying parts not needed. No spares to test. Any ideas?

Did u try reseating your ram sticks? Try 1 stick.

Disconnect all parts from PSU then manually trigger on see how.

If don't know google, its easy.

It manages to boot up after a while. Shutdown and fails again.

Managed to backup some data when it managed to start.

Out of 5 times trying to turn on, about 2 times will have no response to power button press. If it fails I go do other things and it somehow works after a couple of hours.

Success attempt = usually a single press to the power button works.
Fail attempt = when I press multiple times including shorting the power pins, trying for up to 2 mins.

My suspect (but cannot prove) so far is the mobo since it is about 6 years. Not casing button cos power pins shorting proved it as not the culprit. Likely not PSU as once powered on, no issues no sudden shutdown. Not other components as no POST error if can turn on.

I will continue to document my findings in case people faces the same problem in the future and can reference what was done.

Also tried changing CMOS battery, does not fix the problem. BIOS clock and config remains intact, suggests that the battery is fine.

whats your mobo btw? is there nay LED bug lights? if have try to find the manual and look for their codes to know where parts have error.

No error code, just cannot start. Once able to power on, everything ok.
