Anyone has experience in building a desktop for '3D Modeling, rendering, design related' purposes?

Budget : 2k - 2.3k

Any advice related to ''3D Modeling, rendering, design related' rig will be greatly appreciated.

Planning to build one this month, any shop or person to recommend?

I did a read up and realise CPU are used to render , not so much graphic. Will depend on how the budget 2.3k?

Cooling Casing(Almost 24 hour running) - No Overclock needed

Get lots of ram (4x8gb)

If you use CUDA, get Nvidia.

If you're just starting out, either AMD or Nvidia is fine. A mid-range card will do. 7850 or so.

SSD (128 or 256gb)+HDD.

processor i7. 3770 (non-k) is very good. Otherwise consider a lower price model.

If whichever software you're using benefits from professional cards like the Quadros, get one (though AFAIK no one sells the Kepler generation Quadros here, which is a shame). They can be pretty expensive though.

Depends on what renderer you are using. Lets say you model in 3ds Max use Mentalray or Vray for rendering then its all rendered using Cpu but for Vray-RT or iray all would be in GPU . You'd actually need both power and CPU(faster loading) and GPU(smoother viewport). For the pricing, I dont really know whats on the market today but if I were to build my Modeling/Visualization workstation I'd build an i7 2600K/3820 with GTX 660/670/680. Quadro gpus are great in your project build but its too expensive, you can get the same performance but cheaper in gaming cards like GTX's(also get a read on Kepler cards). It may sound like a gaming system but it does work to some people. An SSD also will improve performance, put all your SW in there and Folder for materials/model/components for rendering. RAM??? --- get lots of them, 16gb or more.
For shops, just stay away from the blacklisted shops in SLS.

Quadro price is crazy. Yap, getting 32gb ram. I just updated my posting. Having issues selecting the 'right' CPU now, I don't need one that is all the way up there because it's just the matter of time it will become half price when more latest model are released. How much SSD Space are you recommending. 64GB is stupid, Windows 8 Takes up half of that.

CPU & Mobo: Xeon 1245v2 & Asrock B75 Pro 3M @ $461 << Change Gigabyte/MSI/ASUS board, Asrock used USB 4 port share single fuse not safe.
4+1 power phase not good for handling heavy cpu load.

Wifi Adapter: TP Link WN722N High Gain @ $26 (Tradepac) < TP Link too Weak, get asus wireless
