Hi guys, need a bit of advice to find out what's wrong with my comp.

My 3 yr old desktop was working fine until 2 days back when it suddenly restarted while i was using it. Was just doing normal web browsing. During the restart the problem started.

After it boot up, it will power down after about 10 seconds. Monitor didnt even display the bios screen. When it powers down, it will power up again and after 10 seconds, it powers down again and it keeps repeating and repeating.

Then somehow it managed to start up after i force shut down it and leave it there for a few hours. Was using it fine the whole of yesterday. Then tonight the problem occurred again. This time straight from powering up. The cycle repeats.

Any idea what could be the problem. I thought it was my HDD drive at first but i disconnect it and tried booting up still the same.

Any advice appreciated! Thanks!

1. Run memtest
2. run hdtune
3. Check if your motherboard manufacturer got any diagnostic tools if yes, download and run it.

Remove power source.
Remove ram and put it back. Listen for any beep sound.
Test each ram.
Go safemode?

tried removing and cleaning the RAMs but no difference. Looks like it could really be the PSU or my mobo.

Mine also 3 years old, recently upgraded PSU and GPU. I also had the same problem two days ago. I removed and replace all the rams into different slots, unplugged & plugged mobo power connector, unplugged & plugged GPU power connector, and unplugged & plugged GPU power connector at PSU-end. And it works fine now...
