Hi my desktop has been going strange lately, whenever i on my desktop the fan and cpu fans all will be powered and my motherboard will have a beep sound but my mouse, keyboard will not power on and my monitor be a black screen

I have tried the various things so far:

• I have tried placing the mouse and keyboard usb into the front two usb ports and the mouse and keyboard lit up but my monitor was still a black screen

• I have tried taking out my GPU and placing my mouse and keyboard at the back two usb ports(in which i also do in the past) and the desktop ran smoothly

• I have tried unplugging the powercord and holding the power on button for about 30s to a minute but the mouse and keyboard and monitor was still not working (this was with GPU installed)

Right now i've been taking my GPU in and out until i think i've spoilt it where instead of a black screen they said no input on my monitor instead. Thank you and may the hardware gods save me.

Oh yeah my parts are as follows
Motherboard : B85-G43 GAMING
Ram: DDR3 2x4gb
GPU: RADEON R9 290 GAMING 4G
PSU: SUPER FLOWER 80plus gold
CPU: intel i5-4460

Wrong time to buy GPU, prices have headed north. Maybe look at Garages Sales.

If not doing graphics intensive stuff, you can rely on the built in graphics of your i5-4460 by plugging in the monitor cable to the mainboard video output. :)

Likely ur pci-e slot is damaged. Quite common for ivy bridge and haswell mobos where the slots were not designed with heavy GPUs in mind, and since you are using a R9 290 which is quite large and heavy it may well be the case.

Suggest u look for 2nd hand haswell mobo
