corsair ax1600i failed. test button worked. green light meaning ok. but pc won't boot. now using 2kw fsp power supply to run the desktop. the corsair costs $682 at sls. hope it can be fixed else investment goes down the drain. bought in 2021

not sure if those repair shops in sls can fix this. if you have any success stories, do share. convergent don't repair. one for one replacement under warranty only

Just get a new one. Doubt PSU worth repairing also for safety reason since it draw lotsa power to power your system

i voided the warranty by opening the psu case. it was done knowing the warranty will be voided

desktop is working. thermal paste on amd cpu, mobo northbridge, mosfets, nvidia gpu all diy replaced. only the psu failed. the desktop is running now

it was running 32 cores at nearly 100% load for weeks until the psu gave up. every month open casing and clear up dirt in the radiator and casing

warranty voided by myself. i thought this thing will last a long time so open up to ssrr. now i know modern psu cannot withstand constant power draw with the cpu running at near 99% and temperatures close to 100 degree celsius inside inside the cpu for months without stopping

Opening up a working PSU is always a bad idea, since you don't know what negative effect on performance you can do by incorrect assembly and disassembly. I have seen PSU fail en-masse just because the fan filter is placed in a slightly different location. Newer PSUs even have switching devices bolted to the chassis.
