Desktop shuts down while play DOTA 2

Hi I recently changed to a new PSU, as recommended by the salesperson, Xigmatek 650W Gold, because my old seasonic X died on me.

My GPU is EVGA GTX 770 SC 2GB

when i play dota 2, it suddenly shuts down all of a sudden and then restarts by itself. could the PSU be a factor?

just black screen then restart.

i5 2500k, I recently upgraded my GPU and it happened before and after.
My PSU is 7 years old, an Antec Truepower New 650W.

I've ordered a new PSU to see if that resolves the problem.

Does yours only shutdown during Dota? Mine normally shuts down once 5 mins after a cold boot, and then is more stable after the first restart.

I've had it restart in other applications and even without other programs running.

Check your 12v rail and see if it is stable.

I assume the PC works normally when you are not playing any game?

mine shuts down in any game, csgo included!

Possibly your PSU 12v not enough power during load. Since it only happens when you play games.

Can download hwinfo to see what is the 12v reading, otherwise, check your bios.

Use MSI Afterburner / hw info. You are looking to see if overheating occurs

Do something like furmark ( for GPU ) or intel xtu ( for cpu )

DOTA is not GPU intensive so even an x50 card ought to be able to play it

One needs to rule out
1. GPU spoilt
2. PSU spoilt
3. Overheating

Happened to me over the weekend

I wanted to give one of my spare PCs to my kid. Working perfectly.

Then after reset bla bla
Suddenly cannot work. Spinning logo into windows.
CAnnot even reinstall windows 10. zzzz
Sudden death..

so now i'm using the xigmatek psu, i just got it a month back and while playing PUBG the desktop never shut down on me, but only recently dota 2 in the worst settings also shut down.

on the sensor from hwinfo it shows 11.968v across all 4 rows.
