see if you can diagnose this.
desktop been working fine so far except for bsods lately with nvidia drivers (could be gfx card dying)
power has never been off for my computer so psu always got power.
so today i decided to remove my gfx card and start by turning off the main switch power.
then i remember i just updated the graphics driver, so maybe bsod might not occur. attempt to power up the main switch and turn on computer.
no boot.
mobo has lights, fans turning, split second later, power stop.
cycle repeats forever (i think my computer auto powers on when power is detected). cannot even post.
totally doesnt make sense. turn off main switch power, then computer dies?! im not an engineer, so is it related to capacitor problems? suddenly holding charge then cannot hold any more charge so can't start the engine anymore. it has been working fine for almost 3 full years (2years 11.5months) without any parts changed.
anyway the fans all working. i thought maybe computer too stress, so i took out the power for the fans, unplug the sound card and gpu, same thing. it couldn't been a power switch being stuck because i took out the case connector for the power switch (and there is no issues in the first place with the case).
The only thing different is that i removed my hotswappable hdd on the case, and then turn off the main power switch.
my guess is PSU or MOBO got issues. what do you think?
specs as follows:
cm 690 adv ii (i think)
gigabyte x58a-ud5
6x corsair rams
1x intel ssd 80gb
1x 2tb wd black
intel i7 950 with h80
evga 470gtx
corsair ax850 (i think, not at my desktop now)
my corsair psu (and my mobo i think) are from overseas, can warranty here if spoil?
