I checked intel website and it says intel 4460 clock is 3.2Ghz and 3.4Ghz turbo. For intel 4590 its 3.3Ghz and 3.7Ghz turbo. There is more diff in turbo speed. Even this has no major effect on speed in real life apps or game ? This is just hard to digest.

I looked at Asrock H81M HDS mobo. This can save me alot of money which i can put into graphics card but has some problem. It really looks like no space for my soundcard if put in graphics card. Anyone have this mobo ? Is there space for souncard after slotting in graphics card ? Then this mobo oni have max 4 sata port. I have 2 hard drive + sata dvd drive. Then i will be adding another hard disk and SSD in a few months time. So need to find something with 6 sata port.

Ok then you may need to step up the mobo. As for the turbo speed, dont be mistaken, it only works on processors 4 cores or more. How it works is it slows down 3 cores to improve the speed of one core, assuming the program is running only one thread, most newer games work multiple treads, so turbo is kind useless for games. Which is why you dont see this on i3's or petiums.

But i guess its your cash, buy what you want, just make sure its informed decision, not just bigger gigahertz=better..

For goodness sake. Everyone here already mentioned and given in the advice to you, there is no difference in terms of turbo speed taken into consideration.

The difference you can't even feel nor see. Its your SSD that will make a big difference in speed. CPU is the last that you will consider on modern games.

Like what people have mentioned, it will only bumped up to the turbo speed if every cores are utilize. Not all games will even be using all 4 cores to maximize the speed. Some worse, on idle.

Only have 500 dollar budget still want to pump up processor for a very minor bump and want to get vengeance rams some more.

Go to the forums and look for second hand stuff, you may be able to meet your budget and the need to have high specs for the sake of it.

No shame in getting second hand stuff if it comes with a receipt and is value for money

Not to be rude but it reminds me of some typical singaporeans that i had met...

Not much money to begin with but want this and that....

I highly recommend that you save up more first before overhauling ur system. A bigger budget will allow more choices and flexibility.

Sporeans like that one. Govt give money to subsidise hdb flat also all want to hiam and ** location this and that, house size small etcetc. Want things to be perfect but can't afford to begin with.

If you only have 500 to upgrade pc, maybe don't upgrade and save the money for a rainy day. 500 bucks just to play bf4 seems excessive to me.

The upgrade from Intel 4460 to 4590 is abt $20 not like $100. But since alot of pple have same view that no difference performance i go for Intel 4460. Like that can save up faster for SSD already. I sometimes re-encode video which is not counted as video editing i guess. But 10s faster to encode is not worth it too. I really don't mind second hand stuff if i can even find one. Thx for all the suggestions.

Go for second hand stuff. You may be able to get a i5 k series processor even.

As long as have local warranty and receipt and the wty has not been invalidated you will be fine.
