Thanks wahkoa, just a thought would a company that has only been trading around 3 months ( incorporated June 2015) have externally audited accounts?
probably not.
usually 1 year then have

without this document, I suggest you walk away immediately

unless they they have another guarantor like a reputed bank or insurance company

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

sound like the gold bar scam, buy the premium gold bar from us,one year later we promise to buy it back from u at 20 percent above valuation.6 month later the boss run road and the company declare bankrupt.

i rather buy the gold bar,at least the gold bar has value and u can recover some losses,i dunno what is a funny coloured diamond worth.

Yes I see your point, if the company dissolves, I could just have a worthless Diamond, having said that, If I can get an independent valuation on the Diamond and it stacks up, it might be tempting to go for the 15% return just in case the company is still around in 12 months so I can get my 15%!! Food for thought

i have two question, how are you going to prove u have any stake in the diamond which is stored and kept by them.

also why is it in their interest at all to even pay you 15 percent, what purpose do you serve in the transaction and what value do you bring to the table besides money?theres smart money and theres dumb money and i think urs fall in the category of dumb money,u bring no expertise to the business,u add no value,u dont even have any knowledge of the industry,u are just dumb money which is cheap and plentiful available.why do they need you as a source of money?

the only reason i can come up with is the diamond is worth way more than they are letting u in on and they are looking for some cheap financing to help secure the diamond which they can resell for 100 percent proft.

Sounds just like another other scam schemes to me, recently I had someone approaching me to buy amber (seriously they are selling tree juice now?), all with the approach of assets-backed investments. They actually have the physical stuff but the way the value vs market is probably like 200x more so basically you're paying for junk.

Payouts might be possible while commissions from getting another person in is usually paid, but this is just to gather as much money as they can and then poof, they gone your money also gone.

So basically a Ponzie Scheme? Good for those at beginning not so for the unlucky investors at the end!{

Actually the salesman said that they hope the investors take the 15% buy back as they intend to stockpile the Diamonds and then sell them when the mine closes in 5 years! So maybe your on the right track there? But why would the diamond being worth way more than I invest be a bad thing for me?
My worry is it is worthless and the company disappears!

TS, I hope you do not have direct links to the company you are questioning about.
Advertising is not allowed here, what more a dodgy investment scheme.
For anyone reading, Beware.

Since wahkao3 has generously offer to go through the paperwork, hopefully there will be more clues in these.

Has anyone on here heard of a company called Asia Fine Diamonds? I went to a presentation last week and they offered me an asset backed investment plan, where I invest in a "fancy coloured" diamond put it in secure storage with trust company and then after 1 year they guarantee to buy it back for the original price plus 15% or 30% if I left it in for 2 years.

This is absolutely, 100%, guaranteed a scam.

Forget analysing the contracts - the contract isn't going to do a thing for you when they run off with the cash.

There might be diamond-looking things involved, but they'll either be glass, or they'll be real low-quality diamonds that aren't worth what you pay for them. They'll sell a few million bucks worth (or, if they're smart, they'll keep it running for a couple of years to pay off the first round of investors - makes it look more legit!), then run off to Belize with the money, and you'll be left with glass.

Mod, do take note of this thread. It is, indeed, advertising. See how TS keep on mentioning about this and the enthusiasm, despite it is so obvious it is too good to be true.

Personally I think you are on the right track here. I was once involved in a "Pyramid" scheme we did not realize until later of course. Some of my friends further up the chain made some money I lost my investment. I'm thinking on the same lines but I am going to check contract anyway for interest.

I am new to this forum and just figured out the TS you are referring to is me! Well I thought the forum was supposed to give investment advice...that's all I am after. I can see that 90 per cent on here presume it's a scam. Fine I go with that..but actually I might just figured out a way to scam these guys myself! Think pyramid schemes and being at the top..just got to wrestle with my conscience and see if I could live with it. Anyway unless the Mod decides to kick me off I would welcome the opportunity to have the contract examined at least! Where the harm in that?

Is this forum for investment advice or is it just solely set up to bust scams? If the latter could you tell me any good sites I could use please?

I do understand where your coming from btw

TS, hope you understand the skepticism is not unfounded. Most of the folks here can spot a scam a mile away.

There is no need for us to do so much homework for these type of 'investment'.
If one has the time, studying a real company making real $$ in the stock market can return much higher than 15%.
e.g. Riverstone Holdings has doubled in 1 year.

This is a forum to talk about investment. But this thread is just a conversation about a scam so why would you expect the response to go otherwise?

The objectives of these companies are to get you to part with your cash so that they can use it to make money themselves. Be it gold, silver, diamonds, etc. They'll even put a pail of 'magic' water in a safe fora year if that's what it takes to get you to part with your money.

If you are expecting a different type of response from rational people in this forum, I think you are dead wrong.

Yes stock market is another option for me but how can I make sure I don't lose money? Other than using some expert guru who could charge a lot of commission? I really don't have the time at the moment to become expert at stock trading as appealing as it sounds.

Thanks anyway though :)

Sure, I'm also interested to see what wahkao3 can come up with.
On another note, don't get rile up by the forummers here. They(including me) hate scams.

Chill.

It takes about as much effort to understand a 'diamond' company as it does to understand a normal listed company. If you don't have the time to understand one, you don't have the time to understand another.

If you want the easiest way, buy a ETF. 7-8% annually without much effort better than a 15% gamble.

Ok I get your point..it's a scam and maybe I was a fool to get a little excited about it..the forum has enlightened me a little at least. Well now I am feeling annoyed that I wasted 3 hours valuable time with the guy..so trying to figure out a way to scam him!!

Can you lose with that or is it 100% safe?
